We are excited to announce that effective today, February 2nd, Phase One Athletics, including marching band without instruments, color guard, cheerleading, dance team, and JROTC, can resume on-campus conditioning. All district Phase One safety protocols relating to after school athletics and the activities listed above remain in place and will be administered in the same manner as before Winter Break. For detailed information, please visit Reopening Youth Sports.
Even more exciting is the news that, in alignment with the Education-Based Athletics COVID-19 Tier Map, we are able to move forward with athletic competitions for sports that land within the “Purple Tier”. Under this Tier Map, Cross-country athletes are authorized to compete in a modified season. Detailed information about the return to competition for our cross-country athletes will be forthcoming. We look forward to this first step in welcoming back our student athletes to outdoor conditioning and competition!
Our athletic departments and coaches will begin reaching out to student-athletes this week with information related to the specific sport activities.
We anticipate the gradual return of small, stable groups of students for specialized services to our campuses in the coming weeks. We continue to look for ways to provide students with on-campus opportunities in accordance with local and state health guidelines.
