The California Scholarship Federation (CSF) is a state-wide organization to honor outstanding high school students. Currently over 1,000 high schools throughout the state have a CSF chapter. The goals of CSF are to foster the recognition, motivation and education of academically talented students, and to promote the ideal of service to their communities. Membership is voluntary and subject to an application process at the beginning of each semester in order to verify academic standing. The cost is three dollars per semester. CSF members typically earn three or more A’s in their academic courses per semester. Students are disqualified for any grade below a C in any subject or for a U in citizenship. Students must qualify a minimum of four semesters between their sophomore and senior year to receive life membership. CSF life members are recognized in several tangible ways. An embossed seal is placed on both the diploma as well as the permanent transcript. Each member will receive a certificate of life membership as well as a CSF lamp membership pin. Furthermore, graduates who qualify, have the honor of wearing the gold robe at their graduation ceremony.
In addition to these honors, colleges and universities throughout the nation award scholarships to CSF life members.
