What Is It?
The Legal Practices courses focus on giving students an understanding of the American Legal System and its impact on every American’s life. Through the study of basic law, students will develop critical thinking skills and apply legal concepts to current real-world social problems, as well as anticipate those of tomorrow.

What To Expect
Students will study the role of local, state, and national government in the economy, social services, criminal justice system, and administrative agencies. Students who achieve competency in this course will develop knowledge and skills in the origins and sources of American law, principles on which our law and the legal system developed, structure and procedure of the court system, different categories of criminal cases, the juvenile justice system, analytical skills and oral and written communication.
